Dear Colleagues and Healthcare Professionals,

In 2022, the Department of Health (DOH) - Health Facility Development Bureau (HFDB) led the development of the National Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Program for Health Facilities Strategic Plan 2023-2028 together with key stakeholders. As part of this plan, one of the identified gaps that need to be addressed is IPC Education and Training, which is also a core component of the IPC program as reflected in the National Standards in Infection Prevention and Control for Health Facilities, 3rd Edition, and in Administrative Order No. 2022-0051: Revised National Policy on Infection Prevention and Control in All Public and Private Health Facilities.

In line with this, we are delighted to invite you to the upcoming Asia Pacific Society for Infection Control (APSIC) Basic Training Course in Infection Control, organized by the DOH - HFDB and the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in collaboration with the Philippine Hospital Infection Control Society (PHICS) and the Philippine Hospital Infection Control Nurses Association (PHICNA). This course is dedicated to empowering healthcare workers across the country with the latest strategies, best practices, and innovations in infection prevention and control.

As we continue to navigate the evolving challenges of healthcare, infection prevention and control remain to be a top priority for safeguarding the well-being of both patients and healthcare professionals. This training provides a unique platform where experts, practitioners, and leaders come together to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and build lasting partnerships to advance infection prevention efforts in the Philippines.

We are excited to welcome an esteemed group of international and local lecturers to share their invaluable knowledge and expertise with our eager participants from hospitals across the country. Together, we will explore new ways to strengthen infection control systems, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and promote a safer healthcare environment for all.

Join us in this enriching experience as we work towards reducing infections and improving the quality of healthcare delivery across the nation.
